Stag Returning to Ruins
Forming and stacking leather to create bas-relief-like panels, the work depicts a scene of a young stag with silk tangled in its antlers, who has returned to its home of ruins. Building the world around the already symbolically rich stag, the ruins and ribbons mirror the show’s between-world-theme of work & play. The old world ruins demonstrate the stag’s sense of drive to return home while the tangles of silk show its chaotic ventures into the new world.
