In response to Anselm Kiefer’s painting Interior, the large-scale leather relief mirrors Kiefer’s depiction of Nazi government offices in Berlin, which were destroyed in 1945, with a depiction of the Coventry Cathedral after its bombing during the Battle of Britain.
