Rebirth For Two
This dining table represents the intersecting stories of two characters through a survival-kit-inspired tablescape. Designed on themes of rebirth, each handmade object strapped into leather acts as a fragment in the story’s emotional architecture. A handsoap cast into a Blitz shelter recalls a moment from my family’s past. A beeswax candle symbolizes a search for truth and healing. Two dinner plates, painted with self-portraits of each character, represent a material labor of escapism as I insert myself into the characters' stories. Using craft to live through the lives of others, this table enlivens my own myth.
